Welcome to the bathgate community council website
The overall aim of any community council is to engage with the community and act on the needs or issues that the community experiences by expressing their views to the local authority, council and other public bodies.
Community councils are not part of the council's structure - they are independent bodies who run their own affairs. West Lothian Council have a Community Council Liaison Officer whose role is to provide advice and assistance to the community councils, and also the public. The council's Liaison Officer is Lorraine McGrorty who is based at West Lothian Civic Centre in Livingston. She can be reached by telephone on 01506 281609 or via e-mail email@example.com.
There are 35 community councils in operation in West Lothian, a list of these and office bearers can be found at http://www.westlothian.gov.uk/communitycouncils
